Last updated: 08/11/2025

Introduction

Bad Badger Digital ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of people who interact with our business. This Policy explains how we collect, use, share and store personal information and how you can exercise your privacy rights. We operate in New Zealand and this Policy is aligned with the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

How we use personal information

We use personal information for purposes including:

Cookies, analytics & advertising

We use cookies and analytics tools (for example Google Analytics) to understand how people use our site. We also use advertising pixels (for example Meta and Google Ads) to run and optimise campaigns. These tools may place cookies or other tracking technologies on your device. We disclose this practice here; no cookie consent UI is provided by default on our site.

Sharing personal information

We may share personal information with:

These third parties may be located in New Zealand or overseas (for example Google, Meta, Stripe). When we share data with overseas providers we will take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place.

Storage & retention

Personal information is stored on cloud platforms (which may be hosted in New Zealand or overseas) and sometimes on local devices used by our team. We retain client and business records for up to 7 years for tax and business purposes, unless a different retention period is required or agreed.

Security

We maintain reasonable security practices including password management, multi-factor authentication, and secure devices. While we take care to protect personal information, no system is perfectly secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Access, correction & deletion

You can request to view, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop sending marketing communications. To make a request, contact us at hi@badbadger.digital. We will verify requests and respond within a reasonable time — typically within 20 working days.

AI, automation & data processing

We may process personal information using AI tools and automation platforms (for example to draft content, analyse data or build automations). AI tools may be hosted overseas. AI-generated outputs can contain errors — you should review and approve all outputs before publishing. Do not send highly confidential information through AI tools unless necessary and agreed.

Where we build automations or messaging systems for you, you are responsible for the content and messaging that is sent using those systems.

CRMs and job management tools

We may access client CRMs or job management systems when authorised and when necessary for the agreed scope of work. You retain ownership of data in those systems. We are not responsible for security vulnerabilities or breaches in those third-party platforms.

Marketing communications

We may send marketing emails to clients, leads and subscribers. You can unsubscribe using the link in emails or by contacting us at hi@badbadger.digital. We will respect opt-out requests promptly.

Children

Our services and website are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Complaints & contact

If you have a privacy complaint, email us at hi@badbadger.digital. You can also raise concerns with the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated Policy here and update the Last updated date. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
